Foundation Laboratory (FL) is thrilled to announce that we have been selected by Hologic, a health technology company that is synonymous with innovation and excellence, to be featured as a distinguished partner in launching their outreach promotional video campaign to promote their premier product, Aptima Virology Assays. 

The Aptima Virology portfolio, which includes FDA approved HIV-1, HCV, and HBV NAAT tests, are run on the fully automated Panther system using one single tube shared among the tests. The assay utilizes real-time transcription mediated amplification (TMA) technology.

During her interview, Dr. Frieda Jordan, the head of the DNA Molecular Typing Department at FL, emphasized the importance of running HIV-1 tests on the Panther system for FL clients. FL processes hundreds of patient samples that need a wide array of testing including those that are time-sensitive for the HIV-1 test. Dr. Jordan further emphasizes that the Panther instrument not only produces accurate, reproducible, reliable and quantifiable results for HIV-1 tests, but has a very quick turnaround time. Within hours of receiving the patient samples, we can report the patient results. This greatly benefits our patients and providers and positively impacts patients’ diagnosis and treatment.
